Essential Oils – The essential 4-pack

Print Friendly

If you’ve spent any time at all on Pinterest these days, you’ve probably noticed a lot of people talking about essential oils.

What are essential oils?  Essential oils, are the botanical extracts from plants and plant materials; such as flowers, fruits, herbs, seeds, stems, trees and various other plant materials. They are the very essence of the plant providing protection to the plants from diseases and other maladies and play a role in the pollination of some plants as well.

Throughout history, essential oils have been used around the world for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits, so it’s really no surprise that the popularity of essential oils has experienced something of a revival in recent years.  More and more families are seeking out natural and holistic ways to preserve and promote good health.  Spark Naturals’ certified pure, therapeutic grade, essential oils represent 100% safe and pure essential oils for the benefit of your, and your family’s, well-being.

Essential oils are great for tons of different uses.  You can use them for aromatherapy, topically, in recipes, for your beauty and skin care routine, in your home and garden to deter pests, to clean your home, on your pets (please check with your vet), to flavor beverages, and the list goes on.

Spark Naturals Essential 4-pack KitThe Spark Naturals Essential 4-pack kit is a perfect set of starter oils for anyone just beginning their EO journey.  It includes four 5ml bottles of essential oils:  Lavender, Lemon, Melaleuca (Tea Tree), and Peppermint.  The list of uses for these four oils might well be endless but I’m going to try to list a few ideas for you to get you started.

Please note that I only recommend Spark Naturals 100% Pure essential oils if you are going to use any of these oils in cooking, beverages, or otherwise ingesting them. Quality and purity are paramount when considering using essential oils internally.  That being said, lets move on, shall we?

Lavender

If you only own one bottle of EO, I would highly recommend lavender.  First and foremost, it’s my go-to treatment for any burns or scalds in my home (yes, we’re a bit accident prone here – oops).  I recently spilled a ladle-full of boiling broth on my hand.  I immediately applied a generous amount of lavender essential oil and the pain immediately stopped.  Not only that, but the following day, my hand wasn’t even red.  It was like it never even happened.

Lavender is a natural analgesic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibiotic, antiseptic, anti-anxiety, anti-depressant, anti-spasmodic, stimulant, sedative, and a detoxifier, to name just a few.  Lavender stimulates the immune system which boosts cell regeneration causing wounds to heal much more quickly and reduces scarring.

Lemon

Lemon is another powerhouse in the essential oil world.  I’m seriously thinking I need to figure out how to extract the oils from the lemons myself because I use SO MUCH of it.  (On second thought … I should probably just leave it up to the experts.)  It is stimulating, calming, anti-infection, astringent, detoxifying, antiseptic, disinfectant, sleep inducing, and anti-fungal.  It can be used to stimulate digestion, in recipes, in beverages, as a cleaning powerhouse in your kitchen and laundry, as a fever reducer, as a stress buster and anxiety reducer, a sleep aid, in your hair and skin care routine, and much, much more.

Melaleuca

Melaleuca is often referred to as tea tree oil.  The two terms are interchangeable.  Some of melaleuca’s properties include antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide, and stimulant.  Melaleuca has been used for centuries to help the immune system; it acts as a stimulant and helps the body fight off disease, bacteria, infection, virus and illness.

Peppermint

Peppermint essential oil also serves many purposes as an analgesic, anesthetic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, decongestant, stimulant and vasoconstrictor to name a few.  It can be used as a digestive aid, to tummy upsets, to treat motion sickness, as well as provide headache and muscle pain relief.  Peppermint is as good as gold in my book.

All this info is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to essential oils and their innumerable benefits.

You can purchase your own Essential 4-pack from Spark Naturals for only $19.99+shipping but if you enter the coupon code TRIXIE at checkout, you’ll save 10% off your entire order!  While you’re there, you might want to consider ordering a bottle of oregano essential oil, a bottle of Shield essential oil blend, and a 10 ml roller bottle too.  I wrote all about the benefits of these oils and the “Cold & Flu Bomb” here and here.
