Growing in Faith

Who will be victorious? You decide!

I’m writing today primarily to my friends in the U.S., but not exclusively.  No matter where you are in the world, you can change your community too, so please feel free to stay and read. I make it a point not to be political on this page, and I’m not changing that now.  I’m simply writing to remind all of us that, as Christians, our citizenship is in Heaven.  We are only here for a season, but while we are here, we must also remember that there is only one who can heal our land and restore our country.

Social media is buzzing after Monday night’s Presidential debate.  The two sides came out spitting – no, not the candidates – their supporters.  Friends, I submit to you for your consideration that neither of these two candidates are our savior.  Both of them are completely incapable of saving this country. They are only human.  Neither of these two candidates, nor the other two who were not invited to the debate stage, are physically or mentally capable of anything more than any of the rest of us.

Everywhere I go, I hear people talking about how bad things are and how evil people are becoming. Friends, the enemy knows his time is almost up. His goal is to stir up as much strife and fear and trouble in this world as he possibly can. He is a liar and there is no truth in him (John 8:44). We, as God’s people, are tasked to stand up against him and refuse to fear. Do not let the lies of the devil shake you. Do not be moved by what you see.

Our God is greater than any need in this world.

He is greater than any government in this world.

He is greater than any evil in this world.

God gave us a detailed account of what the darkness in the last days would look like so we would recognize it and not be alarmed.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power…” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

These scriptures are a very accurate description of today’s America, sadly; but we have hope. As born-again children of God, we are redeemed from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13). The Lord knows who are His (2 Timothy 2:19). He will protect you from harm (Ps 121:7). The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all (Ps 34:19).

Psalm 91 assures us that as we dwell in the shelter of God, we can trust him:

‘Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”’

All of this to say, do not be in fear and in strife with your brothers and sisters over what our nation looks like, or over this election.  It is nothing but a tool used by Satan to steal our peace. His only objective is to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10).

None of what is going on in our world today is a surprise to God.  He knew about it before He ever spoke the universe into existence. He knew before He ever started; and He already had a plan to redeem the whole thing.  He loves us so much, that even knowing ahead of time what a mess we would make of this life, He made us anyway; and predestined the plan of redemption before the beginning of anything. It’s mind boggling.

We are not, however, at the mercy of the enemy.  We have been given power to overcome by prayer, and by faith in the Lord Jesus.  I want to encourage you all to pray for our nation.  Not only for our nation as a whole, but specifically for ourselves, our families, and our communities. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 instructs us how to pray and tells us right up front what the outcome will be.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

Also, 2 Chronicles 7:14 continues our instruction and God’s promise:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Lastly, we have the promise of the Lord Jesus, given in Psalm 2:7-8

“I will declare the decree:  The Lord has said to Me,
‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.
Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

We are so blessed to live in this time in history and in this place in the world.  Each and every one of us is here on purpose, for a specific purpose. Will you join me in praying for our nation and our future?

Who will be victorious? Please don’t misunderstand me, we can and should take our God-given authority over this nation and put it to work.  It is your right, your privilege, and above all; your DUTY, to vote this November.  Not because you are an American, but because, as a Christian, it is your sacred responsibility to vote.  Jesus went to the cross to redeem us; but until He comes again, the devil is still the ruler of this world.  God gave the dominion of this world to the first Adam; who very quickly handed it over to the devil.  Adam became subservient to the enemy when he willfully disobeyed God.  Adam’s choice, however, doesn’t change God’s integrity.  He is bound by honor to uphold his word. He is a just God, and He will not take what is not His.

This earth belongs to the children of men, who are under the authority of the prince of the power of the air. But, by the grace of God, Christians are not subject to Satan’s rule on this Earth (Colossians 1:13) because Jesus defeated him at Calvary. Hallelujah!  As sanctified sons and daughters of the Most High God, we are called to take dominion over that which we have been granted authority, by faith, and to tend it and keep it.  We carry the responsibility for what happens in this world.  With the ability to choose, we have a responsibility for the outcome.  To whom much is given, much is required. (Luke 12:48)  Paul admonishes us in Romans 12:2 {AMP} to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed and changed by the renewing of your mind, focusing on Godly values and ethical attitudes, that you may prove for yourself, the perfect will of God.

The enemy wants us to believe that it’s ok to not go out and vote.  His lies tell us that our votes don’t matter and we can’t make a difference anyway.  In the natural, our votes may or may not matter; but we serve a supernatural God.  Don’t you remember how Jesus fed 5,000 with 2 fishes and 5 loaves? (Luke 9:10-17)  Do you think God can’t perform the same kind of miracle because it’s an election instead of hungry people?  Jesus said, “With men, it is impossible …, but with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27). I’m convinced that God can take your one little vote (and mine) and multiply them for the good of those who love Him.  Do you have faith? Then go vote! Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Until we give Him something to work with, by giving Him our authority on the Earth, God cannot move.  Do you trust God?  I do.  Jesus did (Mark 11:22).  Who will ultimately be victorious?  You, as the redeemed, decide!

I will be praying for all of you, that you will be set apart from the madness in this world, and be protected by His mercy and grace.  Stay in peace, friends, and God bless you.

Much Love, Trixie
